How to properly configure AD FS Proxy to access private AD FS from Internet?

Hi,
I need to access my AD FS 3.0 federation metadata (internal network, domain.local) from (e.g.) my PC over Internet by simply resolving IP of ADFS Proxy or using some public domain which is NOT the same as AD FS domain. With self-signed cert (I will ignore/skip the warning in browser).
How should I set up the ADFS Proxy (WAP) then?
Basically I want to test the access to the metadata from Internet first, before proceeding to further steps.
