Handwerk » issue with crafting relics

Hi,
I upgraded my character to all 80 lvl items by advanced crafting them.
i'm having issues getting my old equipment to merge/transfer/absorb.

for instance I have a lvl 80 cooling helmet, type helm
i used to have a lvl 65 void crown, type helm, relic rank 5/1

i cannot transfer the lvl 65 relic power to the lvl 80. (indicates no gear available)

i cannot merge the lvl 65 relic power to the lvl 80. (indicates no gear available)
i cannot absorb the lvl 65 relic power to the lvl 80. (indicates no gear available)

so, what am I supposed to do.
you can't tell me this is how this is supposed to work, it makes no sense, they are the same type.
it's very frustrating and annoying since I have several other pieces of gear doing the same thing?
Any idea?
